Disaster II: Etech, flu relapse

I'm sitting here between sessions at the Emerging Tech conference in sunny San Diego, and I'm sick AGAIN!

I had a lingering nagging cough from my first bout with this crap, and after four weeks I decided to break down and go to the doctor. Last Friday I picked up some antibiotics in hopes that they'd knock it out once and for all, and bam! Relapse! Fever! Cough! Snot extravaganza!

Does anyone have an explanation for this? Could antibiotics make one sicker before they make one better? Was the infection trapped in my body, and the antibiotics are exorcising it? What gives?

Hopefully this thing will run its course sooner than later. It has worn out its welcome.

Yeah, this is a nasty thing - you get it once, you think you're cured, then it pops up again at a later date......it went around my work for about two months. My wife got it bad. However, she feels great now.....so I think once you kick it, you're good to go. Heal fast!!!

What the heck is going on?! I don't ride with you for one week and you get sick again? That's it. I've had it. You need to finish Distance Logger and stay in the land of healthy things Chico full time!!!!!! Either that or get a transfusion of my blood of which is so toxic that no germ can live in it. And being sick in San Diego of all places. Here's my recommendation- Grab your wife, find some bikes and go ride by the ocean. Take a bottle of red wine and drink the whole thing. Go back to the hotel, sleep it off and get some actual breakfast food in you. Eggs, bacon and some sort of potato, You are wasting away and you need some fat to protect you from the bad things. Basically, treat your body as it has been treating you, like crap. Works for me and I don't get sick.

Hope you feel better. I know I do.

I think the truth of the matter is that I never licked the bug the first time around. That cough never went away. You know, the one where my head nearly fell off at the top of Honey Run?

Thursday I started taking some nasty antibiotics; add to that a plane ride with a sinus infection, and think that's probably a decent recipe for it coming back full on.

And yeah, to be in San Dawg for the week, and not able to romp. Lame!

BTW, I couldn't retain fat even if I tried. Genetics.

I'm still in the throws of whatever this virus is that has me... fever, achy, cough, same old. Thinking of going to a real doctor soon, rather than a doc-in-a-box.

I wondered if the TT went down today. Good to hear it did, and yeah I'm bummed that I couldn't get out there. :-(
